Pelvic pain refers to discomfort in the lower abdomen and pelvis that can arise from a variety of underlying issues. For many women, this pain can be acute or chronic, often resulting from conditions such as endometriosis, scar tissue and adhesions, or even muscle tension in the pelvic floor. The impact of pelvic pain can be profound, affecting not only physical health but also emotional well-being, leading to challenges in personal relationships and daily activities.
At Empower Women’s Health & Wellness, I understand that pelvic pain is not just a medical issue but a multifaceted concern that can influence all aspects of a woman’s life. My philosophy centers on holistic care, recognizing the importance of addressing both the physical symptoms and the emotional toll. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized support that empowers women to take charge of their health and find lasting relief.
Numerous conditions can contribute to pelvic pain in women, each with its unique symptoms and challenges. Endometriosis is one of the most prevalent causes, where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, leading to severe pain, particularly during menstruation or intercourse.
Painful bladder syndrome, previously called, interstitial cystitis, is also a common issue that can cause persistent pelvic pain, frequent urination, and discomfort. Additionally, muscle tension or pelvic floor dysfunction can result from stress, pregnancy, or trauma, contributing to pain that may feel like it originates from the reproductive organs or bladder. Understanding these conditions is crucial, and at Empower, I am here to guide you through the complexities of pelvic pain and explore treatment options tailored to you.
Treating pelvic pain requires an individualized approach that addresses both the symptoms and their underlying causes. Pelvic floor therapy is a key component of our treatment plans, focusing on strengthening and relaxing pelvic muscles through targeted exercises and manual therapy techniques. This therapy can significantly improve muscle function, reduce pain, and enhance overall pelvic health.
In addition to pelvic floor therapy, I may recommend lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and mindfulness techniques to manage stress and inflammation. For some women, medications or interventions such as nerve blocks may also be appropriate. Empower Women’s Health & Wellness are committed to helping women find the most effective solutions for their unique situations.

Jamie is the best! She helped me get through some horrible flares. She is knowledgeable and willing to answer all my questions. She helped equip me to continue my journey of strengthening and healing on my own, not leaving me dependent on her forever. I’m so grateful to have women like Jamie whose whole career is to come along side women, educating and equipping them to become a stronger version of themselves again. I always looked forward to my appointments because I knew she was going to help me find relief. If you’re in need of a pelvic floor physical therapist Jamie is your girl!
I was referred to Jamie by another medical professional. I had multiple issues postpartum after a very long labor (diastasis rectus, pelvic floor issues, tailbone misalignment, etc). Jamie took the time to work with my issues plus strengthening so I can return to my everyday life. She was very considerate and explained step-by-step the cause and effect of each issue and exercise. The manipulations (fascia release) helped immensely and not something I’ve had before at a physical therapy appointment. You will not find this level of care for patients anywhere else for therapy. Jamie is professional and her expertise in women’s health is beneficial. I highly recommend visiting with Jamie at every stage of a woman’s health.
Jamie has been an integral part of my care team and journey toward overcoming hypertonic pelvic floor and pudendal neuralgia issues. I have been seeing different pelvic PTs for years and now that I've finally found Jamie, I'm actually seeing progress and feeling better. She has extensive knowledge of pelvic floor issues, explains things thoroughly, really listens to her patient's needs, and thinks of various ways to treat the issues at hand. Finding Empower Women's Health has allowed for huge step forward in my long healing process. Highly recommend.
At Empower Women’s Health & Wellness, I understand that pelvic health issues can affect more than just your physical well-being.
